thanks!!! indeed, these are both through a window. though the glass was filthy, the sun was doing me a favor by being on the other side of the building. i would love to get permission to go inside, but i don't even know where to start to make such a request. legend has it the building is owned by a chinese corporation who wants to sell it, but is asking for too much money. i will post more photos tonight -- more overall from across the street.
yeah, i really like the framing -- with just a little hint of the reflection on the left -- at first, i thought it was a cool photoshop effect like "destroyed film" or something, but upon closer inspection i saw the fence... very nice!
many of your shots have a really huge DOF... do you remember what f/stop you used on this? i'm thinking perhaps i should crank up my ISO during the daytime so i can stop down and get a greater in-focus range...
