thanks! i got a normal zoom, a 50mm prime, and a super-duper wide zoom (10-22mm).
the last two here were taken with the 10-22mm. i ended up returning it, but i'm thinking of reordering.
the 10-22mm scared me because it was so different; i wasn't used to taking really wide shots. but i do like some of the shots it took, so i might repurchase it... we'll see!
very nice. I long for the 10-22....so wide, so great. I, too, have the 50 prime, which I love, and I just ordered the 17-85 IS. can't wait to get it. sorry I missed hanging out with you and nick over the break; Christmas is a crazy busy time.
looking forward to some great shots with the new camera!
the more i think about it, the more i think you should return the other one (the normal zoom) and get your 10-22mm back. if i had to choose 2 lenses for the rest of my life, it would be a 50 prime and a super-wide. of course, that's a result of what my eye wants to see -- and that's a pretty personal deal -- but i just thought i'd throw a 2 cent piece in. :) if only the lenses only cost 2 cents... sheesh.
maybe if i really dig deep here, what my eye has been after lately is what you get with a lomo. if only i were more electro-saavy -- i'd buy a cheap lomo and try to convert it with the digital guts from my old canon elph. has anyone heard of such a thing?

love the pic. Hodges, what lens did you get with your new XTI?
