glad you like it! it's the view from two floors above the lab, no special photography tricks. while the building is mostly finished, there are still some areas that you can sneak into unlocked, like the penthouse balcony.
the key is being there in the morning when the sun is rising over the hills. with the sun rising to your back, the low angle rays light SF and the golden gate with good contrast.
the best days are when you can make a fresh cup of coffee, open the west-facing balcony doors and feel the cold morning winds coming off the pacific... sipping coffee and watching the whole metropolitan area come alive.
night is gorgeous too, except i think it calls for cervezas rather than coffee.
